Who We Are

Front Line Construction Ltd was founded in June 1979 by Willie Doherty, Seamus Sweeney and John Ward. Despite their initial experience of working together in heavy civil engineering and tunnelling work they adapted very quickly to the growing housing development market in the early 80’s.

Their first major client was Leech Homes who evolved to Beazer and eventually merged with Persimmon Homes in 2000. Our relationship has continued to grow with these companies during the mergers and is as strong today as it was at the outset.

We are based in Bathgate, but our work force is strategically spread throughout Central Scotland allowing us to work efficiently in areas as far a field as Ayr to Dunbar and Perth to the Borders.

More recently we have found ourselves adapting to other forms of construction contracts, from small works through to private clients which has enabled us to maintain our specialist workforce throughout these difficult times.

After Willie and Seamus’ retirement, and although John is retired he now operates as Honorary Chairman of the Company and Willie’s son Peter is Managing Director.
